And to finish, it's this old cow, once more in a setting more familiar to her than some might assume. This was difficult, but at the time of posting I think I like it the best of any of this batch, at least from her waist up - first time I've drawn Heresy and been even remotely happy with her face. The legs are fucked, and I can't work out how to unfuck them. Boots are my new nemesis. Any ideas on how to unfuck them? Anything else that's wrong? Goddamn breasts. Breasts are difficult.
Pencil.
The (ex-)Ishmundi did not, do not and never will like Heresy Smith.
Legs, hmm, legs. What I find's helpful when I'm drawing legs is to think of them as a volume and then draw a line down the legshape where the FRONT of the leg is (like, over the kneecap and down the shin) so that I know which way to make the feet point.
ReplyDeleteAnd then suddenly I realise that this is a lot easier to explain in person, with a pen.
Megan's comments from irc:
ReplyDeleteThis is actually one of your best, the tilt of the hip is right. Boots and shins are a right pain, refrefref!
Yay! Breasts + gravity! Lying down they go flatter, you have adhereed to the law of gravity in this picture.
Touch long on the upper arm. Her left forearm is off, the positioning is somehow wrong, but I have no clue why. But you have a really good dynamic twist to the body there, and I like her slightly untucked shirt. The collar is good as well :)
