Bath - Meredith, naked, WIP, NSFW

Aaaaages since I've properly drawn anything. I've forgotten why I started drawing this, but I blame #larp and porange. Morvanian pinup! Or smut. Or something. Whatever it is, Meredith can be saucier than she dresses. Ask Keshrel.

Pencil. NSFW. In the first incarnation the hands were the wrong way around. XD

Fineliner. NSFW. I cocked this up - I've done that thing I do with the philtrum. Rarrgh,

Brushpen. NSFW. Surprised how much better it looks this way.

I cocked up the tub, but it's the figure and the water I'm more interested in - the tub was just me being careless. Tried to address the recurring face-too-small issue in this, but have I gone too far the other way? She has so much hair I can't tell. I have no idea what possessed me to combine the horrors of hands, feet, nudity, water and perspective. Eurrgh. Is that foot still too damn small? I think it might be. Bastard thing. Debating whether to go for Magic Opaque Water, or try something far beyond my skill level with colouring. Hmmm.

What's wrong (and/or right) with it? :D

  1. I think the head and thigh are exactly right. The outer foot is poss still slightly small as it is the nearest part of the body to the viewer as well as needing to be similar length to the forearm. I would expect the fold of the belly to be a bit higher up the torso or less severe - if there is enough belly at that point to make a proper deep fold then I find it odd that it would be totally vertical down to there, but this may just be a different bodyshape thing. I like the darker brushpen outlines a lot.

  2. Locksmith: Right hand is the wrong way around! Again! Gah!

    NATO:

    - the eye gets more definition of shape with lineweights
    - looking at your previous work, the face is more centered and has much nicer proportions. hands are good :)
    - armpits are a little off I think, something isn't quite right but I'm terrible at drawing organics so not sure what to tell you
    - it's the curve at the top that's bugging me (re: breasts). again it's one of those things that is likely correct, but doesn't seem so
    - overall, nice drawing :) curved, forground objects in perspective are stupid. might be worth using a perspective grid

  3. Pufferfish:

    - also, yes, the brushpen really does make that work
    - Hand is the wrong way around, but it'snot obvious because she's holding the soap
    - the armpits took me a moment because the line is for the breasts, not the rest of her body. so it's correct, just immediately misleading. Perhaps the breast lines don't need to go that far up?
